So you want to make a difference in your life in 2010? I’m looking for 2-3 people to join me in making this happen. This opportunity will only be extended to a couple of carefully chosen people so please read on and see if you are interested.

This is not:
Get Rich Quick scheme
Multi Level Marketing
A scam to take money from you
Selling an existing product
Going to replace your day job (at least not right away)
A paid job offer

This is:
An opportunity for several driven people to make a difference in their lives
A gathering of skills necessary to introduce new products or ideas into the market
Something that would be difficult to do on your own
Local: I’m only working with people in Brevard County right now
A chance for the right people to become financially independent

So what exactly am I proposing?
What we are going to do is create a brainstorming group with the intention of bringing new ideas and/or products to the market. These ideas and products do not yet exist; we are going to create them. We will meet in person at least once a month and more often as deemed necessary with other communications handled by email or phone. I will be leading the group through the first few steps to help decide what we are going to create then we will consult with other professionals as needed. What are these steps?

1. Brainstorming ideas (new consumer or industrial products, web sites, books, courses, literature, etc)

2. Determining if the idea is feasible and profitable

3. Creating a path to market

4. Building the product or idea

5. Learning from our experience and doing it again

We will all be signing confidentiality agreements and will use an attorney to form the company or partnerships when we get to that point.

It gets even better; there is a second part of this plan that will not be revealed here, only to the people chosen after we have become a team. My goal for this group is to become financially secure while doing something fun and exciting. We CAN make this work, even if the first products are only mildly successful the second stage could help us all become financially independent.

How do you know if you are the right person? You might be if you can answer YES to these questions:
Have you ever had an idea for a new product or service?
Ever been frustrated that you didn’t know where to start?
Have you seen your idea on the market a few months or years later?
Have you ever set goals for yourself and worked towards reaching them? Did you reach some or all of them?
Can you work well with a small focused team?
Can you leave your emotions out and be open minded?

What kind of people am I looking for?
First of all, people not like me and not like each other. We need skill sets that complement each other to cover each other’s weaknesses.
Attitude is more important than formal education here; you need to be the type of person who follows through with things.
Your current profession does not matter, just that you will be dedicated to the project and willing to work with the team.

How will this be organized?
Initially we will just meet as an informal group but everyone will sign a confidentiality agreement, this is to protect each other and the ideas we each bring to the group. Once we decide an idea (product, service, whatever) is feasible we will form a company or partnership as appropriate. Everything will be done professionally and we will establish goals and timelines for all members. Each member will have certain responsibilities based on our individual skills, if a member is not performing satisfactorily then the majority can vote them out. If the member voted out has vested interest in the project we will work on a fair compensation for them at that time. I will retain a slight majority ownership (1% over other members), for example if there is 4 members total (the maximum) I will hold 28% and each other member will hold 24%. Other details to be worked out in our initial meetings.

The group will be a total of 3 or 4 people; I feel this gets a good collection of minds together without bogging things down. Ever try to make a decision with 10 or 20 people?

Still confused? Here’s what we are going to do:

1. Meet as a group a minimum of once per month (maybe weekly to get started) and brainstorm ideas for new products or services. Every member will be required to bring at least one idea to each meeting then we will discuss the potential as a group. These ideas may lead into others; we will also work collectively to come up with new ideas.

2. Once we all agree an idea is a good one, we will do more extensive research to determine if the idea is new and profitable.

3. If we still have a go, we will work on fabrication / design / building the project, copyrighting or patenting, and creating a marketing strategy.

4. Launch the product, figure out what we did right or wrong, and start work on the next idea.

5. Once we have successfully launched 2 or 3 products we take this to the next level which will be revealed to the group only.

Why do I think this can work?
Why not? Many people have come up with great ideas, some have cashed in and others haven’t. I have done this on my own once already but it was a lot of work and I would rather work collectively to make it bigger and better. Remember, this will be a part time effort to start with so don’t plan on quitting your day job anytime soon. I have successfully done this in the past on my own but realize that having the right mix of talent will boost potential by multiples.

What do I bring to the group?
Well, first of all I am the one starting it.
I’ve organized groups and associations before.
I’ve had several side businesses, some successful and some not.
Attitude, determination, drive, focus. This is not a “what if”, not a half assed attempt to make a quick buck. This is a serious project to attain financial independence.
A few specific areas of expertise and industry knowledge (to be revealed to the selected group).

Anything else to know?
Yes, we will get to a point where there are costs involved so it is expected all members should have financial means to contribute. I would guess a minimum of $1000 to a maximum of $5000 total. The only way I could see that being a lot larger would be if we were to start a retail front (brick & mortar store) but a project like that could be reserved for later down the road once some of the smaller projects were providing an income.

The goal here is to create multiple streams of passive income for all members. In other words, once an idea is successful it should continue to pay us with minimal future effort. I’m not going to state potential here but use your own imagination.

Timeline & Goals
First step is to select group members, I estimate this will be complete around the end of October 2009. Our first meeting will follow and will be more of an introduction and further explanation of the process. Product brainstorming will begin in November and I would like to have an idea ready to run with at the beginning of 2010. By mid 2010 we should have a product ready for market.

Remember to be honest! I’m looking for the right mix of people, not just one certain type. We will all have to work together and will depend on each other so teamwork is essential. There will be no place here for personal differences, if you have a problem with any race, religion, age, looks, or any other prejudices then don’t bother applying, I need people who can appreciate the differences each person brings to the group and understands this is what will make us successful.

When your email is received I will send an acknowledgement of receipt but no decision will be made until I have had a chance to review all replies. As potential members are selected I will interview each one personally then decide which ones make the best mix. I have established a list of what I am looking for and will chose the 2-3 people that help fulfill a majority of these items. This web page will be removed once the group members have been selected and accepted.

One other thing, if you have a lot of personal distractions in your life right now then work on those items first. I may create more groups later but we can’t have members who are not able to focus and contribute. Like I said this will be part time but we will be sticking to timelines to get things done. Failure is not an option.
